We're off!

The day has finally arrived and we are sitting in the departure lounge at Heathrow airport. Butterflies in my tummy and apprehensive about being away for so long. It's difficult to believe that we won't see our house or the dog for 9 months! I didn't include the family, as thankfully they are all coming to visit us for Christmas and that will be wonderful. So, goodbye everyone and take good care of yourselves. We'll be in touch from the other side of the Atlantic!

Blogging from my iPad

Thought I'd give this a try from the iPad. I'm getting good at all this stuff. Well, 3 hrs until the off and starting to get excited. Tickets check, passports check, everything else, who knows! 

2 days to go

Only 2 days now until we set off and I think we are just about there with the packing. Who knows if we have covered everything at home. Just hope Joe can cope with anything that crops up!!
To Lancaster tomorrow to say goodbye to Uncle Joe, Kate, Joe, Tommy and Leighton, then to Woking on Thursday to see Paul followed by Heathrow on Saturday for a 3pm flight to Vancouver.

First Post

Well, I've finally set up a blog as I've been threatening to do. Not sure how it works yet, but I'll just type a bit and try to load a photograph and see what happens.
14 days to go until we leave on our big adventure. Still lots to organize and I'm realising how much I'm going to miss friends and family, particularly our two lovely grandsons.
